Catherine Hicks was born on August 6th, 1951 in Manhatten. She grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, and this is also where she graduated from High School in 1969. During her time at High School, she was a cheerleader, which was a great part of her life at that time. After having majored in theology and English Literature at Notre Dame University, she decided that she would want to be an actress rather than a teacher, and that's when she decided to start acting. She gained her first experiences in acting during her time at college, and in 1975 she could be seen on TV for the very first time ("Ryan's Hope"). After that, she began to work her way through many (tv-)movies and shows. Her big time was in the 80's when she appeared in "Star Trek IV: The Voyager Home" as the whale biologist Dr. Gillian Taylor and in "Child's Play" as Karen Barclay.
